Brown Eyed Girls

The Brown Eyed Girls (Korean: 브라운 아이드 걸스), often abbreviated as B.E.G., is a South Korean girl group managed by Nega Network. The group consists of four members: JeA, Miryo, Narsha, and Gain. They've debuted as an R&B/ballad vocal group in 2006 and challenged themselves with different music genres. Rising to popularity in 2008, with L.O.V.E. and retro dance music How Come, they went and completed their transition into a electronica/pop group with Abracadabra and Sign in 2009. The group made their debut in Japan in 2010 while the members worked on their solo activities in Korea. After 2 years and 2 months the group made a comeback with Sixth Sense, breaking away from the synth-based and electronic music, it is considered as Korea’s first rhapsody inspired soul hybrid.

2012: Solo Activities

The members branched out to solo activities once again. Starting with Miryo, releasing her self- produced solo album, MIRYO a.k.a. JOHONEY on February 1. She had a rocky start with two of the songs from her album banned in broadcasting stations. Namely, “Revenger”, which according to SBS officials has lyrics depicting violence and the title track “Dirty” for the lyrics of the song, containing the word, “cross-eyed” which could be perceived as a derogatory term for the disabled thus forcing Miryo to change the lyrics to be able to perform on music shows.
Meanwhile, Narsha made her acting debut with MBC's drama 'Light and Shadow'a drama set in 1960s South Korea during the Vietnam War. She plays the role of Lee Jung Ja. Gain is also participating in OnStyle's reality show,Launch My Life. She'll be the CEO of her own fashion agency.
In addition, the ladies had some overseas activities too. They participated in the Hong Kong Asia Music Festival in March and the Korean Music Festival at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Narsha was the MC for the KMF in LA.
